Gotham Seattle City

Check out this view of the midtown skyline of Seattle, captured mid-yesterday from my office.

Jonny Sandlund tweeted that it "looks straight out of a Christopher Nolan flick."

Most of the year I do not turn the overhead office lights on. I prefer ambient light, even on overcast days, especially on overcast days that put everything on display as if in a giant lightbox.

But in winter when it's dark by 5 PM, there is no choice but to turn on the overhead lights.

Remember how I promised I would not complain about the weather, once Seattle summer 2012 finally faded to black?

I'm not complaining.

I'm just asking how it got to be winter already.
