Senator Mark Warner's "crowdfunding a startup" pageBy http://profile.typepad.com/1237764140s22740 // November 14, 2012 in Crowdfunding
Something to keep a tab on: a page on Mark Warner's official Senate website about "the advantages and pitfalls" of using crowdfunding to fund a startup.
The Senator is conducting a series of public events in his state, Virginia, on the subject. The video is from the first event, which features CEOs of various crowdfunding platforms.
As far as I know, Sen. Warner is the only person serving in the US Senate who has a background as a tech entrepreneur and venture capitalist. It's great to see that he is thinking about crowdfunding as an alternative for startup entrepreneurs to consider.
Presumably he believes that equity crowdfunding under Title III of the JOBS Act should be viable. So I would include Sen. Warner as a good person to whom to direct ideas on fixing equity crowdfunding.
